Lacey history this week 1996

Bowing to complaints by local businesses, the Lacey City Council and the Lacey Planning Commission held a joint meeting to review the city’s sign ordinance – one of the most restrictive in the entire state.

In the end, the group decided not to make any changes in the sign ordinance.   At that time, Councilmember and former mayor Bill Bush (the architect of the original ordinance) said “We had a long and lengthy process to adopt that ordinance and I don’t want to go through the process again.”
