Andrew Barkis new state legislator

Andrew Barkis has been selected as the new Republican State Representative from the 2nd Legislative District.   He was sworn into office following his selection by the Pierce and Thurston county government officials.

He takes the place of Graham Hunt who resigned last month.    Barkis received the votes of nine of the ten county commissioners and councilmembers of the Pierce and Thurston county governments.

He takes his place immediately but will have to run for re-election this fall.
