More than $300 million in new taxes for school construction projects have been approved by the voters in Tumwater and Lacey.
Needing more than 60 percent yes vote both Tumwater and Lacey voters gave nearly a 67 percent approval rate. Their respective school districts will soon begin construction projects – – $175 million worth in Lacey and $135 million in Tumwater.
It takes a concerted effort to garner a super majority of votes but the school districts managed to do so – – with a little help from their friends.
