KGY treads new path
Since 1922, KGY radio 1240AM has been broadcasting its signal throughout Thurston County. As an AM station its signal was not always strong and not always available.
With the location of a new signal tower on Tumwater Hill, KGY 1240AM is now available on 95.3 FM. The station is carried simultaneously on both AM and FM. All listeners in Thurston County should be able to get a good, strong signal.
In addition, KGY 1240 AM is streamed live on the KGY web page.
New programing is also part of the new path. “Coffee with Ken”, a live interview show is now broadcast on Tuesdays and Wednesday with different guests each day. The show airs live from 9 to 10 a.m. each of those two days.
A new music mix is carried on the station from 10am to 7 p.m. every weekday. The format is music of our generation and you will be able to sing along with all the songs.
In addition, KGY’s sister station KAYO 96.9 FM continues to broadcast great country music.
