Krupp and Alexander make news

July 22nd, 2013 by Ken

Thurston County administrator Don Krupp has announced that he will be leaving his position in September to take the job of County Administrator in Clackamas County, Oregon.   His last day on his current job will be September 16.

Thurston County Auditor and State Representative Gary Alexander has announced that win or lose his race for County Auditor this fall, he will not be in the state legislature next session.  Alexander told a meeting of the Capital Rotary Club that he will resign his legislative seat at the end of the year.   His legislative position will be filled by appointment from both the Thurston County and Pierce County commissioners.

And a bonus – – The Thurston County Democrats have voted not to support Sue Gunn in her race for Olympia Port Commission.   Gunn is running against incumbent Jeff Davis, who currently has the support of the party.   The vote not to support Gunn was close,  demonstrating that this port commission race could split the county Democrats along the lines of environmentalist and unionists.  Gunn wants to close down the marine terminal.  Davis is a longshoreman.
