Some Lacey news

Lacey’s Community Market will be open this Saturday, July 14 at Huntamer Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market will feature seasonal items, crafts, antiques, and food from 80 vendors. Garden experts will be on hand to answer challenging gardening questions. The market will also be opened on August 11 and September 8.

Work has started on a new scenic trail and overlook on Smith Lake on the Chehalis Western Trail. The Lacey Rotary Club has undertaken the project at mile marker 9. The trail has been approved by the Thurston County Parks Department and the City of Olympia. Designed by local architect Bob Droll, the new trail will lead to an overlook of Smith Lake, similar to the overlook on Chambers Lake, also constructed by the Lacey Rotary Club. Money for the project was raised through the Lacey Rotary Club’s annual Duck Dash.
