Greenstein to run against Lacey mayor

April 27th, 2011 by Ken

Lenny Greenstein, who just held a successful breakfast kickoff, has announced that he is running for the Lacey City Council Position 2. That’s the same seat currently held by Tom Nelson, the city’s mayor.

Nelson has not announced if he is or is not going to seek re-election. He has announced that he will not seek to be appointed as the city’s mayor next year, but has played coy about his intentions to seek re-election to his council seat.

Since Tom Nelson Jr., the son of the mayor, introduced Greenstein at his kickoff breakfast, it’s been assumed that his father is not going to seek re-election. However, Nelson could elect to run for another council seat rather than his own.
