YWCA director leaves

After 12 years as the director of the Olympia YWCA Joan Cathey has left.   In acknowledging her departure, Cathey said it was for personal reasons.  She is currently running for Tumwater mayor but said that had nothing to do with her decision to leave the YWCA.

Over the past decade, Cathey gave the local agency a larger profile in the community and did a good job of educating the public to the YWCA and its projects.
