St. Martin’s applications up
Inquiries at St. Martin’s University for Fall Quater 2010 are up 35 percent and actual applications are up 25 percent over last year. That’s the news that SMU President Roy Heynderickx delivered today to members of the Hawk’s Prairie Rotary Club.
Heynderickx said that he is concerned about the national economy on college enrollment but said many good loan programs are still available and St. Martin’s will work with students and parents to make certain they can get into the university. The school currently has 1150 students on campus.
The new president, who has been on the job about four weeks, said the college’s capital campaign has been going well. Heynderick said the campaign, entitled “Winning Spirit” has brought in $5.7 million towards its goal of $7.6 million.
He said the increase in the number of applications not only speaks well of St. Martin’s, but speaks well of the entire community.
