Obama supporters make final push

September 21st, 2008 by Ken

With the deadline for registering to vote in the November 4 General Election rapidly approaching, local supporters of Barack Obama are making a final push to register new voters.

Three days next week, supporters of Obama, will be canvasing neighborhoods, going door to door, waiting at mall entrances and visiting all three local colleges, in an effort to register new voters in time for the general election.

The final date to register to vote is Oct. 4; and Obama supporters have called for volunteers to work on September 23, 25 and 28.

Obama has staked his presidency on registering new, mostly young voters.  More than two million have been registered nationally and more than 200,000 in Washington state.  Many Democrats, seeking office this year, are counting on these new voters to be primarily Democrats.
