Tumwater Councilmember Judi Hoefling will run for the 22nd District House seat left vacant by Brendan Williams who is stepping down.  She is running as a Democrat.  Access her web page at votejudi.com.

North Thurston Public School Assistant Superintendent Shawn Lewis, who is also the district’s Chief Financial Officer, is leaving his job on May 1 to take a position at the Washington State Superintendent  of Public Instruction’s  Office.

Development of the 26 acres of undeveloped land belonging to the Regional Athletic Complex on the other side of Marvin Road may not be easy to pull off.  Seems a threatened species of gopher, Mazama Pocket Gopher to be exact, has made the area its home.  It’s also the home of some threatened northwest squirrels.  This is the same problem facing the Port of Olympia at the Olympia-Tumwater Airport.
