I publish a monthly newsletter called Ken’s Corner & The Real News, which goes out to paid subscribers. Most of my readers are community leaders who are looking for a different perspective on today’s local news. But, I have many other subscribers who just want to learn more than they can get from their local newspaper. Here’s what you missed by not subscribing.
February 2009 previewed the upcoming Lacey City Council elections, while the March 2009 ran the first part of a two part series on how RoweSix became a ghost town.
In April 2009, we bemoaned the fact that volunteers have almost disappeared in such places as libraries, schools and fire departments thanks to strong government unions which force them out. We also talked about how cities with red light cameras have decreased the yellow light timing to get more violators.
In the May 2009 edition we gave you the real scoop about what actually goes on behind those city government retreats.
In the July 2009 edition I told you everything I know (or think I know) about a variety of subjects. If you haven’t been a subscriber you’ve missed so much.
The August 2009 edition carried the story “The new Aristocracy.” The September 2009 edition revealed what is really in the new teacher contracts signed this year that causes teachers to strike, parents to scream, taxpayers to wonder what more they can do. And, the October 2009 edition gave my personal story about Venture Bank’s problems.
The subscription cost is currently $35 per year. If you would like to subscribe you can call me at 360-456-8964.
