Now What??

October 24th, 2016 by Ken

So, you’ve gotten your ballot in the mail.   Now What?     Let’s review our options.

If you’re going to vote for Hillary for president – –  I salute you for your firmness of mind.    I just hope you know what you’re voting for.   If you’re not going to vote for Mrs. Clinton, you have to decide – – will I vote for Donald Trump or someone else.  Bear in mind that voting for a Republican for president of the United States will have no impact in liberal Washington State.  Our electorial votes will go to Hillary Clinton no matter who you vote for.

But, do you really want to vote for Donald Trump.I don’t think he’s as bad as the media makes him out to be – – but I also don’t think he has what it takes to be President.  He lacks self-control.   No matter how hard he tries, he can’t stop himself from saying stupid things.  That’s not a good quality to have as the most powerful man (or woman) in the world.

There are two other options on your Washington State ballot – – Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate and Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate.  Neither of whom stand a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected.  But, that’s not the point – is it?  A vote for either of these two is simply a vote against Hillary Clinton.

So – here’s the bottom line.   If you’re not going to vote for Hillary, than any vote you make is just a protest vote against her.  Mrs. Clinton is now looking for a mandate and is campaigning to make this election victory a landslide.   If you’re not a Hillary supporter, then vote for anyone else.   It doesn’t make any difference, but it might stop her from thinking she has a mandate from the people to do whatever she wants.

(Later, we’ll look at the Washington State Supreme Court Justice races.)
