County Commission race

Former Thurston County Sheriff Gary Edwards will kick off his run for the Thurston County Commission with a fund-raising breakfast on Tuesday March 8 beginning at 7 am at the Worthington Center.   Edwards, ran as a Republican when he served as sheriff.   He will be running for the county commission as an Independent.   If elected, he will be the third Independent in county government.

In other news, Lacey Councilmember Mike Steadman has announced that he will not run for the county commission seat being vacated by Sandra Romero.   That’s the same seat Edwards is seeking.   Steadman would have run as a Democrat.
