Lacey mayor Jon Halverson has announced he will seek re-election to his Lacey City Council seat.  He will run for his second four-year term and said this will be his last time.    “I’ve decided that eight years is enough in any job,” he said.   The mayor said that people become bored after a long period of time in office.  “You get to the point where you’re doing the same thing over and over again.   It’s tough not to get bored when the work becomes repetitious.”

Also filing for city council seats are Deputy Mayor Earlyse Swift, who is making her third run for re-election to the Lacey City Council – – and Nancy Peterson, who is running for the first time.  Peterson had been appointed to her current seat when Gene Liddell resigned.
