Former Lacey mayors to meet

Nearly four decades of Lacey mayors will meet this week as part of a Leadership Council –  called by current Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder – for the purpose of providing advice to Lacey officals.  Ryder has said that calling upon the expertise of former mayors gives the city a good source of information on which to make decisions.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 21 and will be chaired by Ryder.

On the agenda is the formation of a Transportation Benefit District and a report on the 50th city birthday celebration.

Living former mayors invited to attend the first meeting of the Leadership Council include:  Mark Brown, Virgil Clarkson, Bill Bush, Karen Fraser, Jon Halvorson, Gene Liddell, Tom Nelson, Nancy Peterson and Graeme Sackrison.  Five former mayors have died including Al Homann, Tom Huntamer, Albert VanAndel, Leon Schindleman and Kay Boyd.
