Search begins for transit director

February 8th, 2013 by Ken

The Intercity Transit Board has hired an executive search firm to start its process of hiring a new transit director.

Prothman Company of Seattle has been awarded a contract to do the search.  Cost is $26,500.   This is the same firm which conducted the search for a new Lacey city manager.

The procurement team will meet with the board next week to develop criteria and begin the advertising process in mid-March.

It is anticipated that a candidate be selected by June and a contract signed no later than early July.

Intercity Transit has been without a permanent director since October, when Mike Harbour took a job with Sound Transit in Seattle.
