Port gasps at clean-up costs for building site

December 14th, 2012 by Ken

While Port of Olympia  officials aren’t making public any information regarding their efforts to purchase the Fish and Wildlife building on Capitol Way near the Farmer’s Market, rumor has it that the port is astonished by the costs – – of cleaning up the site.

Word has it that clean-up of the building site will be three times the cost of the building and that has port officials looking at options.

LOTT has expressed an interest in the building site for underground storage facilities, and the state is rumored to be talking with the Department of Ecology about the estimated clean-up costs.

The port has long wanted the site for future expansion of its administrative building.
