July 2nd, 2012 by Ken

“The Olympian” editorial page editor Mike Oakland, has still not returned to work since suffering an accident six months ago.

Oakland slipped on the ice on January 16 while entering work, shattering his arm and injuring his shoulder. Since that time he has undergone surgery and physical therapy, but has still not been cleared to return to work by the Department of Labor and Industry.

His job, as editorial page editor has been taken over by the paper’s publisher George LaMasurier.

Oakland, 62, will have worked at “The Olympian” for 40 years this month.
