Plastic bag ban on way here

The Thurston County Solid Waste Advisory Committee has been notifying interested parties, that it plans to ask the cities in Thurston County, as well as Thurston County itself, to ban the use of plastic bags. It’s set no timeline for its efforts.
The tentative proposal has some exceptions, but the entire plan has not yet been firmed up.
While grocery stores use just one size of plastic bag, retailers use several different sizes depending on the product. There’s a big difference between a bag for a new pillow, and one for a man’s tie.
Grocery stores in California are charging customers 10 cents for a paper bag, trying to encourage shoppers to bring their own bags. Retailers have no such plans.
