Democrat senators have nothing to lose

March 5th, 2012 by Ken

The three Democrat Senators who joined with Republicans Friday, to pass a Republican budget, have very little to lose with their own Democrat caucus.

Tim Sheldon from Mason County votes with Republicans on a regular basis. Democrat leaders have tried repeatedly to defeat Sheldon and have always been on the losing end. Sheldon is safe for re-election. He has also been touted as a possible replacement for Norm Dicks.

Rodney Toms of Bellevue was once a Republican and Democrats were never really sure of his support.

Jim Kastama from Puyallup is serving his last term in the Senate. He is running for Washington Secretary of State this year.

All in all, the three Democrat turncoats have nothing to lose and everything to gain from supporting the Republican budget.
