Finalists for Lacey City Manager named

Four men, seeking to be the next Lacey City Manager, have been selected as finalists. Among the four is Scott Spence, former Lacey assistant city manager.

The other three candidates are Earl Mathers county administrator for Gallatin County, Montana; James Payne,, partner at Precision Organizing & Records Management, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and Steve Worthington, most recently city manager for the City of Fife.

On August 4, the Lacey City Council will meet in executive session to review candidate information. Then, they will host a community reception for the four from 7 to 8 p.m. at city hall.

Friday, August 5 the Council will interview the candidates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in executive session. They will also undergo interviews with city staff. The Council is in the process of appointing a citizen’s committee to also conduct interviews. The public is invited to listen to the citizen committee interviews.
