Former Lacey mayor Kay Boyd dies

Kay Boyd, who served as mayor of the City of Lacey in the 1980’s has died.   She succumbed Friday evening after a long illness.

During her time as mayor, Lacey built its new Timberland Library building  and annexed the property that was known as Hawks Prairie, thus expanding the scope and financial ability of the city.

A memorial service for Kay has been set for January 20, beginning at 1 p.m. at Mills and Mills in Tumwater.
