Nelson concedes treasurers race

Republican county treasurer candidate Tom Nelson has conceded the race and sent out the following message:

Today, I congratulate Shawn Myers on winning the race for Thurston
County Treasurer. She will serve our community well.  Our county’s money
will be in good hands.

Running a campaign takes energy, drive, donors and volunteers.
First, I want to thank my wife and our four children for their unfailing
support over the past eight months. Also, I want to thank my campaign
committee and other family members, as well as all the many volunteers and
donors who helped us every step of the way.

In a campaign season filled with negative “attack ads,” I am
particularly proud that both candidates for County Treasurer talked about
the issues and waged positive campaigns.

Thurston County is a great place to live and work, and our future
is bright.
