Lacey chamber executive resigns

Lacey Chamber of Commerce president Jeff Powell, confirms that Jenny Thorsell is no longer the executive director of the Lacey Chamber.  Powell said that Thorsell tendered her resignation on May 10.

Thorsell’s future with the Lacey Chamber has been a subject of conversation among the membership for some months, but was brought to the front when Thorsell missed the May 5 Chamber forum.

Thorsell has been the executive director of the Lacey Chamber since October 2002 and was the second longest serving director of the that body, eclipsed only by Agnes Kenmir the charter director (at that time called secretary.)

No replacement has been named for Thorsell.  Powell said the chamber is in good hands with the two staff members currently working for the chamber.

Powell also said that more information will be forthcoming in the chamber’s newsletter, due out at the end of this month.
