Local women honored

Six women, from Thurston and Pierce County were honored last night, when the South Sound Business Examiner held its Seventh Annual “Women of Influence” event.

Honored were Deanna Cleveland, chief operating officer for Cornerstone Financial Strategies;  Carlene Joseph, vice president of military operations and business development for Harborstone Credit Union;  Connie Lovelady, president of GCI Ad Agency; and Jan Teague, president/CEO of the Washington Retail Association.

Rising Star honors went to Angelique Wilson, staffing recruiter manager of Professional Temp Staffing Agency; and Jule Washburn, director of Need-A-Break Services of the Tacoma Rescue Mission.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Babe Lehrer, a community activist and retired owner of Lyon’s Apparel.

Four of the six women are Rotarians – Angelique Wilson, Jan Teague, Connie Lovelandy and Carlene Joseph.
