New Olympian publisher to take paper to weekly publication

March 20th, 2009 by Ken

The new publisher of The Olympian is an expert on weekly newspapers.  As a matter of fact, George LeMasurier has had no experience in operating a daily newspaper and has made his career in the weekly newspaper field.

It doesn’t take an expert to read the tea leaves and see that LeMasurier has been brought on board at The Olympian  to take the paper to less than daily publication.

I suspect that soon The Olympian  will be folded into The (Tacoma) News Tribune as a zoned edition and will publish less than daily, probably on Wednesday and maybe Sunday.

All of this of course is speculation, but bringing in a new publisher with experience in weekly newspaper publication adds to the speculation.
