New initatives filed

February 10th, 2009 by Ken

Two new state initatives have been filed with the Secretary of State, both by the same person, but with different agendas.

Jim Vaughn, out of Orting, has filed an initative to repeal the state B&O tax and replace it with a flat tax not to exceed 5 percent..   He’s also filed an initiative to fund state health care through a combination of consolidation of state services, the elimination of all private health care and a tax on all employees.

Both of these initatives will require the siganture of 325,000 registered voters in Washington state.

Many initatives are filed, few are successful.
