Rasmussen in hot water
Senator Marilyn Rasmussen is in trouble with the State Public Disclosure Commission. Rasmussen, who represents the 2nd Legislative District, which includes part of Thurston County, is charged with accepting a campaign donation of $60,000 after the time limit of 21 days before the election, which limits all donations to $5000 or less.
Not only did Rasmussen accept the donation after the deadline, but may have altered the contribution date to make it comply with the law.
This long time senator is in a fight for her life this time around and may be the only incumbent democrat to lose a seat. Accepting the donation after the deadline and changing the donation date, is an indication of panic on her part.
The Public Disclosure Commission is taking her action under advisement.
